(there is another similar guitar in the works). I used a nicely figured bubinga top cap that features dark swirl patterns. The neck and body have a bubinga piece running down the center; the glue in neck maintains the pattern continuously through the joint; the joint is carved away for easy access to higher frets. The peghead cap is also bubinga, matching the body top cap. I used all black hardware and an ebony fingerboard to compliment the naturally dark patterns in the bubinga. The body and fingerboard are accented with a black binding and a black/white/black/white purfling.

The body is semi-hollow, which makes it light and resonant. I used a new sound hole pattern on this model that I like and will use again (notice the decorative hole pattern in the upper bout). I left the neck a bit thick and chunky. It is very comfortable for those with large hands and long fingers. The scale length is 25"; width is 1.75" at the bone nut.

Pickups are a matched set of Dimarzio PAF humbuckers (the name say it all - traditional, smooth style humbuckers).  Controls are a standard three way switch (neck, neck + bridge, bridge) and volume and tone controls. The bridge is a Wilkinson TOM style. This bridge allows for usual height adjustment, buts has locks to maintain stability and maximize sustain. The body incorporates front and back ferrules for a solid string through configuration.

This model is built upon what has become one of my standard body shapes, used on previous models 0711 and 0813. I had a nice large piece of quarter sawn Khaya (African mahogany) that I was able to cut into pieces large enough for two bodies and two necks

This is a guitar that sounds as good as it looks. Its elegant style might inspire some smooth jazz from the PAF style humbuckers. But its nice warm clean sounds can turn to a pleasant growl if you push the amplifier. This is a great guitar for anything from traditional rock and roll to jazz.
