This is my vision for a black and white steel string acoustic. Actually it is really more black and blonde. Woods are figured maple for the back, sides and neck, Englemann spruce top, and ebony every where else. Neck and body are trimmed with ebony binding and black/white/black/white purfling. The sound hole rosette is made from alternate stripes of ebony and maple. Saddle and nut are bone. All in all it looks quite elegant (in my humble opinion).

The size and shape are standard OM, with neck join at fret 14. The sound has the mellow quality that you expect from a top quality OM guitar. The maple body and neck give it a bit more bright punch than a more traditional rosewood/mahogany combination, like the 1324 model.

This model includes K&K bridge plate pickups with an internal, sound hole pre-amp, with volume and tone controls. The K&K piezo electric pickups are the best I have heard for accurate acoustic sound, with minimal feedback.

The tuning machines are top of the line Waverly open back tuners with ebony knobs.

The finish is hand rubbed satin shellac French polish. This is a very traditional type of finish which produces a very light layer that maintains the acoustic quality of the wood.
